Dion Bar - London
Dion Bar, Paternoster Square, London. The client approached Bunch Interiors to transform an existing booth area within the upstairs bar at Dion into a more flexible and distinctive space for group occasions. Located behind the bar, the existing booth area had the potential to become a destination within the venue — an area that could feel intimate for smaller gatherings, yet adapt effortlessly to accommodate larger groups and standing parties. The Concept: Inspired by the relaxed character of an Italian terrace overlooking rolling hills, the design brings an indoor-outdoor feel into the heart of the bar. Fresh, vibrant and immersed in greenery, the space creates the feeling of a lush garden terrace — a welcoming setting that feels both special and relaxed. The design introduces natural textures, vibrant planting and a layered, informal arrangement to create a space that encourages guests to settle in, socialise and enjoy the atmosphere. Flexible by Design: Flexibility was central to the design. The space needed to work equally well for intimate gatherings, individual groups and larger standing parties. Furniture was therefore carefully selected to allow the layout to evolve throughout the day and for different events. Movable furniture enables the space to be quickly reconfigured, while stackable stools can be stored away when additional floor space is required. Folding tables provide further flexibility, allowing the area to transition from a relaxed seating arrangement into a larger standing space for group events and parties. The result is a versatile social space that can adapt to the needs of the venue while retaining its own distinct identity and atmosphere.
